About this Product

Charlotte Head has written these poems whilst in prison for defying the rules of what citizens can do, for trying to stop weapons from being made in the UK for Israel’s genocide in Gaza. These poems are a release from incarceration; creativity and amidst concrete and captivity. Written for the Palestinian people, and for incarcerated people the world over: for all those who continue to fight for what’s right.
Although these poems are relatively accessible, their content addresses a series of complexities. From love poems, to reflections on childhood, through mental health crises, and, of course, political radicalism. The range of emotions and subjects can be seen as an attempt to find balance while undergoing overwhelming suffering. One vivid theme does ring out throughout this book: the fact of undying hope.
